RGP & Hybrid lenses
Who they suit and how they feel
-
RGP sits on the cornea (smaller); Hybrid combines a rigid centre with a soft skirt; Scleral lenses of varying size rests on the sclera and vaults the cornea.
-
Hybrids can be a helpful alternative for selected eyes when a scleral lens isn’t preferred or suitable. We’ll recommend them only when clinically appropriate.
-
Many patients find the soft skirt helps comfort, but comfort depends on fit, dryness, and handling.
-
Lens lifespan varies with care, deposits, and wear patterns. We’ll guide you on replacement planning.
