Start here: What to expect
Booking & First visit
-
No. You’re welcome to book directly. If you have prior scans, letters, or lens parameters, bring them along especially if you’ve been managed elsewhere.
-
We confirm your vision needs, check eye health, and perform measurements that support specialty lens planning (including corneal mapping and anterior imaging when clinically required). You’ll leave with a clear plan and options.
How long it takes
-
Many people need multiple visits: an assessment, fitting/ordering, dispense + training, and refinement checks. Complex eyes often need additional fine-tuning.
-
Some steps can begin on day one, but custom lenses are manufactured to order, so most fittings occur over several visits.
What to bring
-
If you currently wear lenses, it can help to arrive in glasses where possible. If you’re unsure what applies to you, call us and we’ll guide you.
-
Any recent prescriptions, topography, ophthalmology letters (if you have them), and details of your current lenses.
After your fitting
-
Often yes, especially during adaptation, travel, or if a lens is lost/damaged.
-
That’s common early on. We allow time for training and can book additional coaching if needed.
Lens care basics
-
Generally No, water exposure increases infection risk. We’ll explain safer options (e.g., tight goggles if needed, and when to remove lenses).
-
Pain, significant redness, light sensitivity, discharge, or sudden vision change.
